The logo for E.P.O.C.H. Counselling Bureau is a clock because the word epoch indicates a beginning of a new remarkable period of time in someone’s life and therefore is amenable to those who seek Counselling. Furthermore, representing time on the E.P.O.C.H. Clock are words instead of numbers which represent a client’s journey. Affectively a map for therapy but only you decide where the destination is. Furthermore, the E.P.O.C.H. Clock is constructed of darkness and light which is a reflection of how you feel at the time. The first five constellations are immersed in darkness whereas the light is underpinned by the constellations of change that remain.
For instance,
- 1 o’clock is E.P.O.C.H. which highlights a new beginning
- 2 o’clock is Melancholy which can demarcate sadness, which can occur as a result of discussing or deliberating on feelings and traumas
- 3 o’clock is Perseverance which accentuates the strength of being honest with yourself
- 4 o’clock is Resilience which demonstrates the unrelenting resolve necessary to brave the darkness but also insights at this juncture can manifest for clients and thus they are ready to be challenged at a deeper level given the rapport and the confluence that exists between Counsellor and client
- 5 o’clock is Conviction which is tantamount with not only refusing to give up in your pursuit on overcoming the darkness but especially not giving up on yourself because at this point clients’ possess the confidence that they can accomplish their goals
- 6 o’clock illustrates the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel which is entitled Halfway to Heaven, halfway between rising from the ashes like a phoenix and becoming engulfed in the warmth and majesty of the soothing light
- 7 o’clock encapsulates Liberation as this is the first time that you feel in control of your struggle and the darkness is a fleeting memory as opposed to being your phantom and following you unabated
- 8 o’clock is Catharsis which can feature an abreaction which entails bouts of intense emotion because even though the light shines the way, you may have been in the darkness for so long that there was something comforting in its familiarity. This in turn could precipitate falling back into the darkness as fear can sometimes manifest even when you’re attempting to improve your life and wellbeing. Perhaps the whispers of haunting phantoms striving to seduce its prey once more, albeit this time it is the phantoms that are prey not you and it may take time to adjust to this new order of hierarchy. YOU ARE THE BOSS NOW!!!
- 9 o’clock is HOPE which the butterfly acts as the finger and hand on the E.P.O.C.H. Clock, which you’ll notice is the default position on the logo. This constellation is for reflection for not only how far you have travelled and what you have achieved but what kind of life and dreams you would like to experience. After all, if you can thwart the darkness then I truly believe with hope anything is possible
- 10 o’clock is Pride which chronicles the new-found self-esteem and self-respect that you have gained and the knowledge that you deserve to be happy, lets face it, to get this far it means you earned it
- 11 o’clock is E.P.O.C.H.ALYPSE which unlike an apocalypse which heralds the end of the world, the former is symbolic for the end of your issue, the end of your demons, the end of the phantoms eating away at your dreams and hopes for a better tomorrow. Interestingly, the word apocalypse is derived from its Greek forbearer apokalypsis, contrary to the dogma of western civilization, it does not mean the end of the world, but rather lifting the veil, deciphering what is true and what is not. Therefore, apocalypse does not entail the end but rather the antithesis… A NEW BEGINNING!!! It means you have completed your goal and it’s time to prepare for the end of Counselling as you no longer need it
- 12 o’clock is Apotheosis which is a celebration of a great period of your life, you have officially come full circle, you started at E.P.O.C.H. which represented a beginning of a new remarkable period of time in your life and now at Apotheosis you can celebrate what you have fought so hard and valiantly for!!! The E.P.O.C.H. Clock has been reset in your vision and now you can experience the time of your life. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
One last thing, I will never tell you what constellation you’re in or what constellation you should be in, no one can ever know what it is like to be you, but what I can offer is support through the darkness and into the light, what that represents will always be up to you. In closing, when you experience the C in E.P.O.C.H. which stands for Counselling and once you realise you no longer require the C, you’ll notice that without it, E.P.O.C.H. is literally hope spelt backwards which is what the E.P.O.C.H. Counselling Bureau is all about.
